Sowing Financial Seeds
By Anita Du Plessis – IFGF GISI KA Jakarta English Service
As believers, we will seek a lifestyle based on what the Bible teaches about our financial dealings. It speaks about two types of seed that we can sow as believers. They are the Word of God and finances. The Bible makes some extraordinary promises that those who live by what it says will know a much better quality of life. As you apply the word of God to your life, you will then know the blessing of God. Consequently, if we want prosperity, success and blessings in our finances then we must give into the work of God. There are simply no short cuts. If we are to know the blessings of God, we must follow the ways of God.
In the parable of the sower, Jesus said that if you grasp the meaning of this parable you will understand how the Kingdom of God works (Mark 4:13). In essence, when we invest financially into the right places, we can confidently expect return and as a result, also God's many forms of blessings as He honors us for honoring Him.
Mission is the heartbeat of God. Support Mission, because Christ commanded us to do so and the great commission has never been canceled."When we consider World Evangelism and the Great Commission we must think in terms of millions and hundreds of millions, otherwise there is no possibility of obeying Christ’s last command. We have one task – it is to evangelize the human race with the only Gospel God ever gave. Our task can be accomplished in a short time – when our autobiography can be stated in the one sentence – ‘I have compassion on the multitude!’" -Oswald J. Smith.
Missionaries echo the plea of Sir Winston Churchill when he said: "Give us the tools and we will finish the job." If we are to evangelize the world in our generation, we must give the missionary the best quality tools to do the job!
Regardless of the work to which we are called, there is hardly a Christian who cannot give; and when that giving is done in love, it exemplifies the greatest sacrifice ever made for mankind: the death of Jesus on the cross. Mission is a long-term investment where you don’t always see immediate results. But because the church itself is a life-giver under the authority and commands of our God, let's take hands as a church and give LIFE!
