Saving the Lost at Any Cost
Have you heard of the 4 unknown heroes in the New Testament? Let’s look at the story in Luke 5, where a paralyzed man was able to receive divine healing and true salvation. All this was possible because of 4 people that were willing to put their lives out, so they could bring their paralyzed friend into the presence of Jesus. Their names never were mentioned in the Bible, but what they did has saved the soul of one person and brought many to greater faith in Christ Jesus.
When we talk about carrying out God’s mission, there is a price we must pay. In the case of the paralyzed man in Luke’s account, we realize that his 4 friends must have sacrificed their time, energy, and perhaps even embarrassment and fear. Not only that, they must have had to incur some costs in either making or buying the stretcher and other equipment necessary to be able to go up the roof where Jesus was and lower their friend down on the ground through the roof.
This May 2010 in the spirit of mission, IFGF GISI Semarang has sent out a Mission Team into Papua. With God’s compassion in their hearts, the team hopes to bless leaders, women & men, young & old of this land, with the love of Jesus Christ. Over Rp. 70 million was invested to make this possible. But the team was going to go to save the lost at any cost anyway!
As a church, let’s focus our time, efforts, and money to be invested into souls around the world. This month, fundraising continues to be conducted in many parts of the world to make God’s mission works through our church possible. Do take part in it and involve your congregations.
I believe that as we invest into the heartbeat of Jesus Christ, we are playing a significant part in ushering a multitude of people come to the Mount of Zion to worship Him. God bless you all and keep the fire burning in your hearts!
